Data Domain and PowerProtect DD: Same Platform, One Support Partner

In 2019, Dell rebranded the Data Domain product line as PowerProtect DD. The underlying architecture, deduplication engine, and DD OS software are the same, the name on the bezel is the only thing that changed. Whether your organization runs legacy Data Domain appliances, mid-generation PowerProtect DD systems, or a mix of both, Maven supports them under a single maintenance contract.

This matters because many TPM providers only list one name or the other, creating confusion about what’s actually covered. Maven’s engineers work across the entire Data Domain / PowerProtect DD family (from legacy DD140 through DD9800 systems) because it’s all the same technology under the hood.

Supported Data Domain & PowerProtect DD Models

Maven supports the Data Domain and PowerProtect DD product line, focusing on legacy appliances that Dell has abandoned and mid-generation systems approaching end of service life.
