Dell VxRail Support from Engineers Who Actually Know VxRail
System-level HCI expertise. Direct engineer access. No call centers, no escalation chains, no runaround.
Dell has called VxRail “less of a thing,” and with VxRail 7.0 reaching end of support life, thousands of organizations are facing a decision: pay escalating OEM renewal costs for a product Dell is deprioritizing, or find a support partner that actually specializes in keeping VxRail environments running. Maven IT Solutions is that partner. Our W2 Level 3 and Level 4 engineers deliver system-level VxRail support (covering hardware, VMware/vSAN integration, and the full HCI stack) with response times under 15 minutes and cost savings of up to 70% versus Dell ProSupport.
What We Do
What is Dell VxRail Third-Party Support?
Dell VxRail third-party support is an alternative to Dell ProSupport that provides hardware maintenance, VMware support, and lifecycle management at a lower cost, typically saving 50–70% annually.
The VxRail Landscape Has Changed. Your Support Strategy Should Too.
VxRail was once the gold standard for hyperconverged infrastructure, a tightly integrated appliance built on Dell PowerEdge hardware and VMware’s vSphere/vSAN stack. But several seismic shifts have fundamentally changed the equation for VxRail customers
Dell is walking away from VxRail
CEO Michael Dell publicly called VxRail “less of a thing” in late 2025, with Dell’s own storage and PowerFlex solutions taking priority.
When the manufacturer signals a product is being deprioritized, the quality and urgency
of OEM support inevitably follows.
Broadcom’s VMware acquisition created licensing chaos.
The end of perpetual
VMware licenses and shift to subscription-based VCF bundles has dramatically increased costs and complexity for VxRail environments. Many customers are locked into expensive new licensing structures or facing forced migrations.
VxRail 7.0 reached end of support life in September 2025.
Organizations still running
VxRail 7.x code can only get best-effort support from Dell, and upgrading to 8.0 often
means navigating Broadcom’s new VMware licensing requirements, an expensive and disruptive process.
13th and 14th generation hardware is hitting EOSL deadlines.
many of the most widely deployed VxRail models (the E460, P470, E560, P570, and their variants) are
past or approaching Dell’s end of service life. But even current Gen 15 hardware is effectively stranded: with Dell deprioritizing VxRail and Broadcom eliminating the VMware ecosystem that VxRail was built on, there is no realistic upgrade path.
Gen 15 VxRail owners are TPM candidates today, regardless of EOSL status.
Why Maven IT for VxRail The Anti-Call-Center Approach
Most third-party maintenance providers operate like mini-OEMs: you call a 1-800 number, explain your problem to a Level 1 dispatcher, wait for escalation, and hope someone who actually understands HCI calls you back. Maven works differently. Unlike Dell ProSupport, third-party VxRail support offers flexible SLAs, multi-vendor expertise, and cost savings without locking organizations into OEM contracts.
| Feature | Dell ProSupport | Maven IT Solutions |
|---|---|---|
| First Contact | Level 1 call center dispatcher | Level 3/4 storage engineer |
| Response Time | Varies by tier (4hr–NBD) | Under 15 minutes, all contracts |
| Engineer Employment | Mix of employees and contractors | 100% W2 employees |
| EOSL Support | None, zero coverage after EOSL | Full support, indefinitely |
| OS / Software Support | Varies by contract tier | Included in every contract |
| Multi-Platform Coverage | Separate contracts per product | One contract, one phone number |
| Annual Cost Trend | Increases 20–40% per year | Stable, transparent pricing |
| Typical Savings | N/A (baseline) | 50–70% vs. ProSupport |
VxRail Models We Support
Maven provides full hardware maintenance and HCI-level support across VxRail generations, including models that Dell has already discontinued support for. Whether you’re running Gen 13 appliances past end of service life, Gen 14 systems approaching EOSL, or even current Gen 15 hardware, Dell’s de-prioritization of VxRail and Broadcom’s dismantling of the VMware ecosystem mean there is no compelling roadmap to stay on OEM support. Maven is the right call at every generation.
| Generation | Models | Dell Support Status |
|---|---|---|
| 13th Gen | E460/F, P470/F, S470 | End of Service Life |
| 14th Gen | D560/F, E560/F, E560N, G560/F, P570/F, P580N, V570/F, S570 | EOSL or approaching EOSL |
| 15th Gen | E660/F/N, E665/F/N, P670F/N, P675F/N, V670F, S670 | Current Gen — No OEM Roadmap (Broadcom/VMware disruption) |
We support all six VxRail node series, including D-Series ruggedized nodes for edge and harsh environments. Don’t see your specific model? Call us, our VxRail engineers have worked across every series and configuration Dell has shipped.

Save Up to 70% vs. Dell ProSupport, With Better Service
Dell’s ProSupport renewals for VxRail are expensive and getting more so, especially as Dell shifts investment away from the platform. With Broadcom’s VMware licensing changes layered on top, total support costs for VxRail environments have ballooned for many organizations.
Maven’s VxRail maintenance contracts typically deliver savings of 50–70% versus equivalent Dell ProSupport coverage. For a typical 8-node VxRail cluster, that can mean tens of thousands of dollars back in your IT budget annually, money you can redirect toward migration planning, cloud initiatives, or simply extending the productive life of hardware that’s still performing well.
And unlike larger TPM providers that claim 30–40% savings but lock you into multi-year contracts with rigid terms, Maven offers flexible contract structures with transparent pricing. No hidden fees. No forced bundling. No pressure to buy services you don’t need

VxRail Isn’t Just a Server. Your Support Shouldn’t Treat It Like One.
Here’s the problem with most third-party maintenance for VxRail: they treat it like a Dell PowerEdge server with some extra software on top. It’s not. VxRail is a tightly coupled appliance where the hardware, hypervisor, storage layer, and management plane are deeply integrated. When something goes wrong, a vSAN disk group failure, a VxRail Manager upgrade issue, an ESXi host partition problem, you need an engineer who understands the entire stack, not just someone who can swap a hard drive.
Maven’s VxRail engineers operate at Level 3 and Level 4, the same caliber of expertise you’d find at Dell’s own advanced resolution group. The difference is you get that expertise on first contact, not after days of escalation. Our engineers routinely handle
- vSAN cluster health issues, including disk group rebuilds, witness node failures, and stretched cluster troubleshooting
- ESXi host isolation events and partition scenarios in vSAN clusters
- Integration issues between VxRail and VMware vCenter, NSX, and vRealize/Aria operations
- VxRail Manager and LCM (Lifecycle Manager) upgrade failures and version compatibility issues
- Performance degradation diagnosis across the full HCI stack(compute, storage, network)
- Post-Broadcom VMware licensing assessment and guidance on your options
Frequently Asked Questions
VxRail Third-Party Maintenance
Is third-party maintenance safe for VxRail?
Yes. Third-party maintenance for enterprise hardware is a well-established practice used by organizations of all sizes, including Fortune 500 companies and government agencies. Maven’s engineers carry the same certifications and experience as OEM support teams. Your VxRail hardware and data are in expert hands.
Will switching to Maven void my Dell warranty?
If your VxRail systems are still under Dell warranty, we’ll work with you on the right timing. Most customers engage Maven when their Dell ProSupport contract is up for renewal, that’s the natural transition point where you can save significantly without any warranty implications. For EOSL hardware, there’s no warranty left to void.
Can Maven support my VMware/vSAN layer, or just hardware?
Both. This is one of Maven’s key differentiators. Our Level 3/4 engineers support the full VxRail stack: physical hardware, ESXi, vSAN, VxRail Manager, and vCenter integration. Most TPM providers only cover hardware break/fix and leave you on your own for everything above the BIOS.
What about firmware and software updates after EOSL?
While Dell stops releasing new firmware and patches after EOSL, Maven’s engineers can help you apply existing updates, optimize current configurations, and address security concerns through configuration hardening and best-practice guidance. We also help you plan for eventual migration when the time is right.
How fast can Maven get an engineer on my VxRail issue?
Our standard response time is under 15 minutes. When you call Maven, you reach a Level 3 or Level 4 engineer directly, not a dispatcher or a call center. For critical severity issues, we begin remote troubleshooting immediately. If on-site service is needed, we dispatch from our network of vetted field engineers and forward-stocking locations.
What if I’m planning to migrate off VxRail eventually?
Many of our customers use Maven as a bridge strategy: extending the life of their VxRail investment at a fraction of OEM cost while planning and budgeting for their next-generation infrastructure. Whether you’re evaluating Nutanix, Azure Stack HCI, or a different approach entirely, we’ll keep your
VxRail running reliably and affordably while you make that transition on your own timeline.
Is Dell really discontinuing VxRail?
Dell has stated it will continue to support existing VxRail customers, but CEO Michael Dell’s public
comments in late 2025 made clear that the company views VxRail as a declining priority. Combined
with Dell’s terminated distribution agreement with VMware and Broadcom’s licensing changes, the
writing is on the wall. Organizations running VxRail should plan accordingly, and Maven can help
you do that.
