Three Brands, One Platform: Navigating ScaleIO, VxFlex, and PowerFlex Support

If you’re confused by the branding, you’re not alone. Dell has renamed this platform twice:

The challenge for customers: Dell’s support posture varies across these generations. ScaleIO Ready Nodes are past EOSL with no Dell support available. VxFlex nodes are approaching or past EOSL. PowerFlex appliances carry active ProSupport with annual price escalation. And many production environments mix generations, older ScaleIO or VxFlex nodes alongside newer PowerFlex appliances in the same cluster. Maven covers all of them under a single contract.

Every Generation of ScaleIO and PowerFlex Hardware

Maven supports the ScaleIO and VxFlex hardware lineage, from original ScaleIO Ready Nodes through VxFlex nodes approaching end of service life.

ScaleIO Ready Nodes (Legacy: Past EOSL)

Original purpose-built nodes for EMC ScaleIO deployments. All models are past Dell’s end of service life.

  • ScaleIO Ready Node based on PowerEdge R620 / R630
  • ScaleIO Ready Node based on PowerEdge R720xd / R730xd
  • ScaleIO Ready Node based on PowerEdge C6320

VxFlex Ready Nodes (Intermediate: Approaching or Past EOSL)

Rebranded ScaleIO nodes, same architecture with updated management. Based on 14th-gen PowerEdge servers.

Pre-configured, PowerFlex Manager-managed nodes. Multiple deployment roles supported.
