Platform Overview
HPE 3PAR / Primera / Alletra 9000
The enterprise SAN lineage. 3PAR’s ASIC-based architecture defined a generation of enterprise storage, and its DNA runs through Primera and Alletra 9000. 3PAR StoreServ models (7000, 8000, 9000, 20000 series) have all reached or are approaching EOSL. Primera (600/650) launched in 2019 as 3PAR’s successor and was itself folded into Alletra 9000 by 2023. This is the highest-volume HPE storage TPM opportunity, thousands of 3PAR arrays are running past end of support with escalating Pointnext renewal cost

HPE Nimble Storage / Alletra 6000 / Alletra MP
The InfoSight-driven platform. Nimble Storage brought predictive analytics to enterprise storage with its CASL architecture and NimbleOS. HPE acquired Nimble in 2017 and evolved it into the Alletra 6000 series. Legacy Nimble models (CS-series, AF-series Gen5, HF-series) are approaching or past EOSL, while the legacy Nimble CS-series and aging AF/HF generations represent the primary TPM opportunity as systems age out of HPE support. Nimble’s massive installed base, built on its reputation for reliability and InfoSight’s proactive issue resolution, creates significant TPM opportunity as systems age out of HPE support.

HPE MSA (Modular Smart Array)
The entry-level workhorse. HPE MSA arrays have been the go-to entry-level SAN and DAS storage for small and mid-size businesses, remote offices, and department-level deployments for decades. The current MSA 2060/2062 and older MSA 2050/2052, MSA 1060/1050, MSA 2040/2042, MSA 1040, P2000, and earlier models represent an enormous installed base. MSA systems are simple by design, dual controllers, SAS/iSCSI connectivity, straightforward volume management, but they still require storage-specific expertise when controllers fail, disk groups degrade, or replication breaks. Maven supports all MSA generations with dedicated parts inventory and engineers who understand MSA controller firmware, virtual disk management, SAS connectivity, and replication configuration.

HPE StoreOnce
HPE’s purpose-built backup appliance with StoreOnce Catalyst deduplication technology. StoreOnce systems serve as disk-based backup targets for Veeam, Commvault, Veritas NetBackup, HPE Data Protector, and other backup solutions, providing inline deduplication, replication, and cloud tier integration. Current models include the StoreOnce 5200, 5260, 5650, and 5660. Legacy models (5100, 6600, 6500, 4700, 4500, 4900, 2700, B6200, and earlier VSA models) have reached or are approaching EOSL. Maven provides hardware maintenance and StoreOnce OS troubleshooting for all generations, including Catalyst store management, deduplication ratio monitoring, replication configuration, and cloud tier connectivity.
HPE XP (Hitachi OEM)
HPE’s XP storage line is OEM’d Hitachi Vantara enterprise storage. The XP7 (based on Hitachi VSP G series), XP24000 (based on Hitachi USP-V), XP20000, and XP12000 are high-end enterprise SAN arrays that were sold through HPE’s channel. These systems are functionally identical to their Hitachi-branded counterparts and run Hitachi’s storage virtualization OS. Most XP models have reached EOSL. Maven provides maintenance for XP arrays with engineers who understand the Hitachi VSP architecture underneath the HPE badge.
HPE StoreEver (Tape Libraries)
HPE’s StoreEver tape libraries (MSL2024, MSL3040, MSL4048, MSL6480, and legacy models) continue to serve compliance, archive, and air-gap backup requirements across enterprises. While tape is a mature technology, library hardware failures (robotics, drives, magazines, power supplies) still require specialized support. Does Maven support 3PAR OS software or just hardware?
Both. Maven’s 3PAR support covers hardware break/fix (controllers, nodes, drive cages, disk drives, FC ports) and 3PAR OS software troubleshooting (Peer Persistence, Remote Copy, Virtual Copy, Adaptive Optimization, Thin Provisioning, SSMC management). The same applies to Nimble, Primera, MSA, and StoreOnce, software support is included.
My 3PAR 8400 is past EOSL. What are my options?
Three options: buy new HPE Alletra (expensive), run unsupported (risky), or switch to Maven third-party maintenance (save 50–70% with expert support). Can Maven support both my 3PAR and Nimble arrays?

Will switching to Maven affect my InfoSight monitoring on Nimble?
InfoSight is a cloud-based analytics service tied to your Nimble array’s serial number and HPE support contract. Switching to third-party maintenance may affect InfoSight access. However, Maven’s engineers provide the same proactive monitoring and issue resolution that InfoSight facilitates, directly, rather than through a cloud portal.
Does Maven support HPE servers (ProLiant, Synergy)?
Maven specializes in enterprise data storage. Our HPE support covers storage platforms only: 3PAR, Nimble, Primera, Alletra, MSA, StoreOnce, XP, and StoreEver. We do not provide HPE server maintenance.
Can Maven cover HPE, Dell EMC, and NetApp under one contract?
